Yes, the GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon course is AIMS, IAAF and Athletics Canada certified and can be used as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. It is also sanctioned by BC Athletics.

No. Only marathoners expecting to be slower than 5:30 hours will be permitted to start at 6:30 a.m. Anyone finishing the marathon faster than 5 hr 15 min from the early start will be disqualified. This is a safety issue - the far reaches of the course have no marshals until after 8:00 a.m. More information...
Yes! The time limit in the Half Marathon is 5 hours 59 minutes. It starts at 7:30am. Walkers must not walk more that 2 side-by-side for safety reasons; faster runners from the other races will be approaching from behind. The following time limits apply.

Indicate your expected finishing time on your entry form. The finish line closes at 2:00pm.
The Early Marathon, Half Marathon, and Marathon all start on Menzies Street at Kingston on the opposite side of the BC Legislative Buildings from the Fairmont Empress Hotel.
The 8K Road Race starts on Belleville Street between Menzies and Oswego, a block away from the finish line.
The THRIFTY FOODS Kids Run starts on Kingston St. (just off Menzies).
On race morning, check your gear at the clothing check on Government St. at Belleville, then walk along the paved driveway in front of the steps of the Legislative Buildings to the start line for your event.
We do not have pace bunnies, but those running a similar pace as you will be lined up at the start line time banner that reads:

Sorry, there are no refunds or deferrals and registrations may not be transferred to another runner. Course Tours, Carbo Gala Dinner, and Post-Race Massage are refundable until August 31st with a written request.
Baby joggers are not permitted in the Marathon, Half Marathon and 8K Road race for insurance and safety reasons. If an accident were to occur between a runner and a baby jogger, neither party would be covered by our event liability insurance. The GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon is a foot race. For safety and liability reasons all events are limited to registered runners only. Bicycles, hand cycles, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, skates, pacing and running with dogs are strictly prohibited on the course. Non-compliance with these safety rules will result in disqualification.
